NOW The R.O.M wants YOUR HELP, as-in FREE, UNPAID LABOUR to find tiny pieces of a METEORITE observed to have fell by a series of sky-cams that haven't been right yet. Seems the ONE-MILLION odds & ends taking-up space and collecting dust in its carvernous basement is not enough JUNK. Trust me, IF you are lucky enough to find pieces of fresh space-gravel somewhere in the hundreds of square miles along a five mile wide swath of land betwwen Newmarket and Lake Simcoe, The Royal Ontario Museum IS THE LAST PLACE to Notify REGARDING THE DEVELOPMENTS. They have enough CRAP FROM SPACE, AND ELSEWHERE... "Zep," over & out...

I would tend to agree. While a meteor found on your land is a 'shared cultural heritage,' if you donate it you are missing an stipend or monetary reward for having found it. A several-ounce meteorite can be sold for hundreds of dollars to the right collector.

Myself, it would mine if I found it unless found on landowner's property in which case, it it theirs unless we had a previous arrangement/understanding as to ownership of any finds.
